Meet Our Board

Bear-Paw has a wonderful, all-volunteer Board of Directors that sets policy and works to see organizational goals become completed projects. Several of our board members also serve on local Conservation Commissions or work with other organizations involved in natural resource protection. We aim to have representatives from each of our member towns serving on the board.
The Bear-Paw Board meets once a month, and is supported by the following committees:

Lands Committee
Outreach Committee
Membership Committee
Finance Committee
Governance Committee

If you're interested in serving on the board or a committee, contact the office or one of our board members!

In addition to the Board and Committee members, Bear-Paw has a dedicated team of volunteers who help us complete our mission through work both in the office and in the field.

Katrina Amaral - Executive Director

Katrina has spent her career working with the wildlife and landscapes of New England. From coastal saltmarsh ecosystems to the local timber industry, Katrina has experience with the diversity of habitats throughout New Hampshire.  Katrina holds a BS degree in Zoology and a Masters in Wildlife Biology.

Katrina’s background in wildlife conservation has allowed her to develop a holistic vision of land management that encompasses Bear-Paw’s mission to protect a network of open space. She spends her free time fixing up her house and running Timberdoodle Farm with her husband.

Kaitlin Deyo - Land Protection Project Manager

Kaitlin manages Bear-Paw's conservation easement projects, assisting landowners with their land protection goals and fulfilling Bear-Paw's mission to conserve a network of lands for people and wildlife.

Kaitlin grew up in Southern Vermont playing barefoot in the Green Mountain National Forest. She holds a liberal arts degree from UNH and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). In her free time she volunteers for CASA of New Hampshire and enjoys trail running, baking bread, and going on adventures with her partner and two dogs.
